Narcosis

Dental treatment in Poland

About us - plastic surgery and dental treatment in Poland

Over the years, dentistry has changed a lot. Patients do not need to be afraid of the dentist or the pain that is very often associated with a visit to the dentist.

Currently, apart from very good ordinary, standard local anesthetics, there are also other available forms, dedicated mainly to dentists, but also to patients undergoing extensive and long dental or surgical procedures, such as implantation of implants, we mean anesthetic sedation here, as well as general anesthesia - colloquially called narcosis.

Anaesthesiological anesthesia, has been discussed in detail HERE .

NARCOSIS is a popular name for general anesthesia. In dentistry, it is mainly used during surgical or implantological treatment. In exceptional cases, narcosis is also used during conservative or endodontic treatment. Very often, treatment under narcosis is the only treatment option for non-cooperating patients: like mentally handicapped, mentally ill or young children.

Treatments under general anesthesia, contrary to many opinions, are safe procedures, provided that they are carried out by a qualified anaesthesiologist in a suitably equipped facility (in order to be able to carry out operations under general anesthesia, the facility and the team must meet a number of stringent conditions).

Despite a high level of safety, decisions about the procedure under general anesthesia should always be carefully considered and discussed with the physician.

Before the surgery, for which general anesthesia is prescribed, the patient must perform certain blood tests and their results should be presented to the anesthesiologist. The treatment is also preceded by an in-depth interview with the anesthesiologist regarding the patient's health condition, illnesses, medications and allergies - in a word everything that can have any effect is affected by the use of general anesthesia.

During anesthesia, drugs are usually given to the patient intravenously. During the procedure, the anaesthesiologist continuously monitors the basic life functions of the patient, and after the end he watches over him until full awakening. Some of these may last for several dozen minutes, others up to several hours.

Treatments under general anesthesia are available in Czestochowa.

The cost depends mainly on the duration of such treatment.

IMPORTANT:

Before the procedure:

  • the patient cannot eat food for 6 hours before the procedure,
  • the patient cannot consume any fluids for 4 hours prior the procedure.

  • After treatment:
  • the patient should be under the care of a medical team to completely regain consciousness,
  • the patient should not drive a car and operate some machines 24 hours after the procedure.

  • Narcosis is an option payable additionally, the desire to take advantage of narcosis should be reported when the date of surgery is determined.

All details, a list of necessary tests, indications, contraindications must be discussed directly with your doctor.
