Plastic surgery with us

The phrase 'Medical Tourism' has become more popular over the recent years and it is used for describing people who travel to foreign countries to receive medical treatment.

Why do people travel abroad to get plastic surgery done? There are a few good reasons and we will try to desribe them all below.

Time is cruel and unfortunately it does fly quickly. Nowadays people are more exposed to the effects of current lifestyle: smoking, sun, free radicals, worse quality food, pollution etc and unfortunately this all shows up on our bodies and faces... Plastic surgery for some people is a way of 'slowing down' this process so that they can just feel better but for others, let's not forget about that, is the best treatment option after some traumatic accidents, birth deformations or simply complexes they have had they whole life.

Why abroad?

First of all people choose going abroad due to reduced costs, what is obviously the biggest advantage. By traveling abroad people can save more and receive same or even better quality plastic treatment. All inclusive offers usually include treatment, accommodation, transfers and care during the stay (of course everything depends on the company that organises the trip, therefore, always make sure you read everything carefully not to be surprised by any additional costs 'not mentioned' before).
Secondly people look for a better quality surgeons that are only available abroad, where the access to a better technology exists or they know they can receive a necessary treatment sooner than they would at home.
Thirdly, not everyone feels comfortable having the plastic procedure in their home country, becasue simply they don't want others to know about it. By having surgery abroad they can tell others they are going on holiday, while they have their procedure done and can recover from it.

Where to go for plastic treatment?

Popular destinations for medical tourism include: Turkey, Taiwan, Malta, India, Poland, China, Thailand, Malysia, Colombia.

What do you need to consider before choosing where to go for the plastic surgery?

What people attract the most is having the vacation done at the same time as plastic procedure, but what they do not think of is that having a plastic procedure is not the same as having a tooth extracted. Will having over 30 degrees temperature, beaches, beautiful resorts help patients heal better? What if they need to come back after a month or so, will 10 hour flight or even longer be again that convenient?

What you need to think about is:

  • Take your time before choosing a plastic surgeon, do some research, find the best and most suitable proffesional for your needs

  • Make sure the flights are convenient and travel is not too long

  • Make sure you will be able to recover nice and quick with the convenient climate and care of the organising company

  • Always think that if there are any post operative complications you can return to your doctor quickly with no communication problems. Double think, is it worth traveling to the other part of the world when you have great surgeons and care much closer and more conveniently?

Why in Poland?

  • Great range of high qualified plastic surgeons, with years and years of experience,

  • great reviews and fantastic background,

  • the number of flights from the UK (and nearby countries) to Poland is at least 3 a day from different airports, so no problem at all if you need to come back anytime and the flight lasts less than 2hrs,

  • Poland can be a great touristic region but it is a nice a quiet country for the recovery as well. You get all the help from the person looking after you, transfers, translating if needed. But what is more important, all doctors and medical staff use English in their everyday life so no problems and no language barrier,

  • very convenient and short journey with over 3 flights a day from each airport in the UK. Great connections with different cities. Flights very often cheaper than using public transport in home country.

Pluses and minuses of traveling abroad for the plastic surgery.

Let's start with the pluses:

  • Lower costs as already we mentioned,
  • privacy when abroad for the plastic surgery,
  • greater range of the newest technology and devices,
  • reduced waiting time,
  • specialistic surgeons.

  • Some disadvantages and our comments to minimise the minuses and discuss the options:

  • Too large procedures – We, as a professional company, which is on the market for many years now, always tell our patients the truth. Yes - many procedures are better done abroad, but others should be perfromed in their home country due to their complexity. Post operative complications in larger procedure might happen more often, therefore always with honesty and thinking of the safety of every person, we advise our patients to make the right decision and choose their home country for the procedure if going abroad to get it done creates a risk,

  • fear from traveling abroad or too long journey– flights to Poland are less than 2hrs and today plane is a safer means of transport (more road accidents than in the 'sky'),

  • safety and standards concerns – this all should be checked before and it is important to choose right. Make sure that you always know your surgeon's name so that you can read more about your potential doctor. We always send all the essential details with the pictures and links to the website where you can find out more or you can even talk to your doctor beforehand,

  • language barrier – it is not a barrier anymore. Almost everyone in Poland speaks English, but definitely our staff, medical staff and doctors in Katowice

  • What are the costs of treatment abroad and how long will you need to stay here for?

The main reason that some procedure are cheaper abroad than others is due to the lower labour cost in countries where medical tourism is popular. Also the prices of certain medications (like anaesthesia), implants providers etc can be much higher in some countries than others.

Due to these reasons we were able to reduce the costs that much without changing the quality of treatment and moreover, with us you do receive our 24h care, accommodation with breakfast, transfers (from/to airport, from/to clinic, hospital, to/from hotel), surgical consultation and follow up appointments, post operative medications and clothes for no extra or 'hidden' cost.

Let's compare the costs of some procedures performed in the UK and in Poland.
We will provide here an indication of the cost of the procedures performed in the UK based on the prices published by several of the major providers of cosmetic surgery.
