Breast augmentation surgery

Before the breast enlargement surgery, we usually feel the fear and uncertainty about the results of the surgery, as well as our health condition.

Some of them are understandable and reasonable, however, the majority of them are simply 'myths' and slanders which are all over the internet (mostly in forums).
Predominantly, people who spread 'incorrect news' and not proved information about plastic surgeries do consider themselves experts in this field, describing usually their own imaginary point of view.

Breast enlargement is a surgical procedure, therefore, it must be treated seriously with the most restrictive norms and rules. They are being performed only by the surgeons specialised in a medicine of aesthetic surgery and who already have great experience in performing plastic surgeries.
However, there are two sides of the coin, apart from positive aspects of performed breast enlargement surgery, possible side effects might occur. As we mentioned before, it is a serious surgical procedure, where (as we know) a risk of postoperative complications does exist.

NOW LET'S SEE WHAT ARE THE MAIN FEARS ACCOMPANYING BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY:

  • Concerns about rejection of breast implants.

  • This term is defined by the formation of a capsule around the implant, but it occurs extremely rarely. The problem does affect some women, who when reading a word 'rejection', imagine that the implants themselves will leave previous area dedicated to them in the breast, for example during the sleep (we describe this fact based on a film in which a woman, who after waking up, noticed that her implants are placed on a bed next to her - that is only a mystification).

  • Fear from awakening during the breast enlargement procedure.

  • Any documented cases of situations, in which a patient who was instructed before the surgery about what to follow, do occur very rarely.

  • Fear from damaging or dislocating of implants.

  • Any damage to the implant might occur and we cannot exclude it, even though such cases affect only 0.8% of patients, what statistics say.
Although, these cases do happen very rarely, even if the implant did damage, it would not cause any medical problems because the silicone that fills the implant has no possibility to get inside the patient's body. The only problem is the appearance and aesthetics, however even such problem will be solved immediately by replacement of the implant.

  • Fear from not being able to do sport.

  • Only after a couple of weeks the patient is able to return to normal sport activity.

  • Fear from being pregnant and breastfeeding.

  • Implants do not cause any problems, if the planned pregnancy is after 12 months since the breast enlargement surgery. This procedure does not affect breastfeeding as well. We advise against having the operation done within 6 to 8 months since the last breastfeeding.
