Neck lift

we present an area covering neck lift procedure

First mentions about face lift surgery are from 18th century. They are, however, not too accurate and not extensively described, but they have given the foundation to the latter research and observations, by which improving techniques used for neck lift procedure.

Neck Lift - TODAY:
The aim of the surgery is removing excess skin and fatty deposits from around the chin and the neck. It can treat loose neck skin and help match the neck area with the upper facial appearance.
Neck liposuction involves a slight incision in the middle-front part of the chin, which causes that any possible scars will be invincible.

The sutures that are used in the neck lift procedure might be both classic and absorbable, but the choice is dependent on the decision made by the surgeon during consultation with the patient.

Patient is obliged to wear elastic bandage after the surgery, which is intended to protect the head and the chin.

Before the surgery:
Before the neck lift surgery all the necessary test will be carried out prescribed by the surgeon at the initial medical consultation.
In case if the problem is caused by the excess fat, a slight liposuction is being performed as well.
It is also important to inform the doctor about any medical problems or medications which are regularly taken.

Surgery:
Generally local anesthesia is used, however, it happens that general anesthesia is offered to the patient (in rare cases). In either case, this decision is discussed and made during medical consultation between the patient, anesthesiologist and the surgeon.
During initial medical consultation the patient is referred to detailed tests, in order to control his health condition.
Neck lift lasts around 1 hour.

After the surgery:
After the surgery it is advised to stay in the clinic overnight in order to monitor patient's health condition. On the next day the surgeon pays a visit, during which he evaluates patient's health condition and decides about his possible hospital discharge.
Neck lift surgery in most cases causes no bigger pain afflictions. If they do occur, however, they are effectively minimised by the painkillers given to the patient by the doctor.

Questions and doubts:
No surgeon can guarantee that the patient will be 100% happy and satisfied with the results of the surgery. Every specialist's work is based on his own experience and professionalism, but the effects of the surgery can sometimes not go together with the expectations. Every surgery needs to be certified, meaning, confirmed that it had been performed with all rules and regulations, but the satisfaction can depend on other factors, not necessarily related to medical aspects.
