Porcelain prosthesis

About us - plastic surgery and dental treatment in Poland

Porcelain prosthesis, porcelain crowns, porcelain bridges - these are the solutions that we are beginning to be interested in when we lack one, several or even all teeth.

These are permanent solutions that complement individual missing teeth or entire arches.

Here we want to focus on porcelain prosthesis (in fact the correct name is a 'porcelain bridge'), other issues have already found a place among the information on our, please read here: Porcelain crowns

In fact, you should not call it porcelain prosthesis. Why? We will explain it below.

The porcelain prosthesis, which from now on we will call correctly the porcelain bridge, is nothing but teeth connected to one another - that is why they are called a bridge. Most often there are 12 of them in one arch.

These teeth are made of porcelain, yes, but in the outer part, which we see, whereas from the inside (their frame), in order to be strong enough and durable it is made of METAL (porcelain bridge on a metal base) or ZIRCONIUM (porcelain bridge on a zirconia base). These two combinations: porcelain on metal or porcelain on the zirconium, can be easily applied throughout the mouth (they have very good strength).

However, the third option: teeth - all porcelain bridges, where both, the outer layer and the inner base is made of porcelain, can be used only in the front teeth (preferably from the #3 tooth to the #3).

The all porcelain, or metal free, bridge should never really be made as a whole.

Porcelain beautifully imitates a natural smile, very similar to natural teeth reflects light but it is not a material durable enough, very honestly, to be able to apply it in the entire dental arch. AN ALL-PORCELAIN BRIDGE, WHICH RECONSTRUCTS THE WHOLE ARCH (12 POINTS), SHOULD NOT BE MADE.

If someone is looking for the most beautiful and lasting effect, the teeth that will serve and look beautiful for many years, the optimal solution is to perform: 'all-porcelain' front teeth, and the rest lateral on the zirconium base or currently the most often selected porcelain bridges on the zirconium base, due to for their great aesthetics (they perfectly imitate natural teeth), fantastic endurance (you can easily use this combination in the whole mouth) and attracting price: Price list - Dentistry.

In our clinics, the porcelain bridge on 6 implants is probably the cheapest offer on the market.
